Open Auditions and Talent Development

Rubin organized open auditions at Pioneer, which attracted a variety of aspiring artists, including Sheila Fantish, and Glenn Frey, who later achieved fame as the lead singer of the Eagles. These auditions helped launch careers but also stirred a sense of community among local musicians.

Gary Rubin was Engineering The Teagarden and Van Winkle Record "God Love, and Rock and Roll" and decided it needed something, drove to Ten Mile and Greenfield, Burger King Restaurant, and asked the kids there if they could sing. Went back to the studio with them and they provided the best "Gospel Accompaniment ever.
The record went on to sell 4. 5 Million records. Where's his Grammy? Detroit finished second to Michael Jackson.

Reggie Vincent Recorded at Pioneer with the group called Star Also recorded with Alice Cooper Here is a recent photo of Reggie when he received an award from Warner Brother’s Music as a writer, guitarist, and background singer on Alice Cooper’s School’s Out, and “Billion Dollar Babies” Albums in 1972. Both Million Selling Records and Reggie co-wrote Billion Dollar Babies, “Killer,” and “Muscle of Love.”
